‘Tis the Season..
.. for cocktails.
Or maybe we’ve been in that season since March? Either way, cocktail making should be a ritual to be enjoyed. Chic barware is a great way to make that the case in your home, whether you’re hosting or enjoying a quiet night in. Let’s face it, curating beautiful things makes even the most mundane tasks seem romantic.
The best part is, these pieces don’t have to be expensive at all. I have a great shaker I love that is nice quality and super inexpensive. A cut glass base with a silver top makes it chic and something I actually want to have out on display. An ice bucket makes a second round super convenient and also doubles as a wine chiller. Of course, I appreciate layering in some found vintage pieces which makes your bar set up feel bespoke.
Don’t forget a favorite candle. Scent is so important for making a house feel like a home. It creates an atmosphere in an effortless way. Pretty match books or match strikers are also great ways to add a layer to your bar cart.
Bar carts are seriously one of the most versatile pieces you could own. Mine has a full time job as a plant stand and works part time as a true bar cart. I’ve also seen bar carts be used as nightstands or side tables. It’s one of those pieces that you can make a spot for easily! I purchased this rattan one earlier this year, and I am pretty happy with how easily it dresses up or down.
(My favorite thrifted silver reindeer are back at home in the hutch and I’m pretty happy about it)
My personal go-to cocktail is a simple gin and tonic. It doesn’t require a ton of work, but occasionally muddling some basil at the bottom of the glass takes it up a notch. Don’t forget a squeeze of fresh lemon! This feels awfully summery though.
So to celebrate the holiday season, I wanted to leave you with my favorite Christmas cocktail. It’s technically called an Eggnog White Russian, but it’s so easy and festive! Personally, I think it tastes better out of a holiday glass. I rounded some up for you below!
2 oz Coffee Liquor, I like Bailey’s
1 oz Vodka
2 oz Eggnog, I prefer the Califa Farms version!
Shake in your chic shaker, pour over ice in your holiday glass and sprinkle some nutmeg on top. A few of these and you’ll fly through all of that wrapping. I speak from experience.
